I haven’t really talked about Sonic Mania that much since it was initially announced. For those that don’t know it’s essentially a return to classic Sonic gameplay, with genesis-era graphics included! Many see it as the best step Sega could have taken as people have been clamoring for a properly classic feeling Sonic game for a long time.
This game not only has Sonic Team backing it but they have also hired many people who worked on classic Sonic ports and even fan games in order to try and make it the best product possible. I for one am actually quite excited for it as I enjoyed playing the classic Sonic games and playing some Co-op with my girlfriend will be a great time. I mention this now as a trailer just launched that gave us the official release date of the game, August 15th. So I will return to this topic then, let’s hope it’s a good game!
