Exploration in open world video games is sometimes the best aspect of them. Coming across something new that maybe nobody else has ever found can give a great sense of accomplishment that no amount of achievements or big battles can ever match. After running through a minecraft server recently with what looked like huge abandoned complexes it gave me a strange sense of adventure that I missed in a lot of games. Maybe I just need to get out more, or maybe I am just reminding myself of how wonderful the random world of Minecraft can be.
