So recently the first person co-op asymmetric multiplayer game Evolve has had a huge overhaul of the entire game. They have completely shaked up the formula for the gameplay so instead of a slow paced cat and mouse type of gameplay it has become more fast paced and action orientated. Bugs have been fixed, new features have been added but most importantly the game has become completely free to play, no microtransactions as of yet.
To say this is a bold move is an understatement. Evolve has previously been known for being one of the most DLC orientated and greedy games where the pre-order bonuses were revealed even before the game was! This however seems to show that the studio are willing to make up for their sins and try to make a better gaming experience for the fans without being greedy. Will it make up for their shady behaviour? I guess it will be up to the general consumer to make the decision for us all.
