A big moment has arrived, the Kinect is finally dead in the water. Microsoft announced that they have finally stopped the manufacture of the device for Xbox One and 360, meaning no new Kinects are being made, and thank god for that.
The Kinect has had a rocky history, starting with the less than stellar performance that it had on the original 360 to the forced bundle that came with the Xbox One most people have certainly grown to hate this device. While technically it was an impressive piece of kit it just wasn’t suited for gamers and the idea of creating kinect only games soon became a fever dream to developers and the cost for motion capture systems increased and VR slowly took it’s niche place.
So goodbye for now Kinect, maybe we will look back at you one day with fond memories, though that may take a while. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
