So now that Automatron is with us I have already begun to customise my own robot companion, which I have found to be insanely overpowered if you assemble them right. It made me feel really proud to have such a powerful companion, and the amount of customisability surrounding these robots was insane.
It got me thinking though and I wanted to ask you all about this. Expanding on the companion’s post I made earlier, do you all prefer pre-set character companions with backstories and their own defined personality (Like in Mass Effect for example) or do you prefer companions that you can customize to your heart’s content? Personally I think I prefer the former for story reasons, however gameplay wise I like to be able to completely control how my companion operates and so from a gameplay standpoint I’d probably prefer the latter.
