I will admit it, in survival based games I am a sucker for efficiency. Games such as Minecraft have a huge amount of ways you can harvest resources and I love making everything into a machine so it can be automated or made simpler. I am a particularly big fan of creating monster grinding machines that allow me to get infinite XP or items, something about being at the part of your journey where you are no longer afraid of the scary monsters of the night and instead you put them in a machine to farm them, that’ll teach those darn skeletons who the boss is!
Some people may have negative views on automation however, seeing it as making it too easy or not making the game feel worthwhile afterwards but I just say bring on the next machine!
