If you all don’t remember there was a fantastic remake of the original Half Life released on Steam not too long ago called ‘Black Mesa’. The game looked fantastic and really did the original game justice however it was missing something rather important, the final level of the game.
Called ‘Xen’, this was a hostile alien world filled to the brim with creatures, floating platforms and terrible jumping puzzles. Xen was widely considered the worst part of the original Half Life and so the loss of it in the remake wasn’t such a big deal. However nearly 2 years after the release of the game the developers are saying that they might be close to finishing a final redesign on this infamous level. Using the new technology available at the time they are planning to expand and improve it to better fit with the original game and make it overall a lot more fun.
