A Hat in Time

That is an adorable art style

I mentioned Cuphead yesterday for being an Indie Darling game that broke the mold of the current gaming industry atmosphere and aimed just give us a fun game to play but I neglected to mention another game that also did this recently, A Hat in Time.

This is essentially a very much overshadowed 3D platformer from Kickstarter purely from the fact that it was released around the same time as Cuphead. Again, I haven’t personally played through it but from what I have seen and from the reviews I have read it’s a gorgeous looking game with a wonderful amount of charm and an upbeat atmosphere that keeps you going. It of course comes following the generally lukewarm reception to Yooka-Laylee which many people are still debating today as to whether it was actually any good.

Besides all of that though A Hat in Time at least helps to show that the 3D Platformer genre isn’t dead at all and hopefully more good ones will pop up to keep the sector alive, let’s just hope that the genre doesn’t follow into the darkness of Microtransactions and Loot Boxes. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
