Gabe really has a lot to say recently doesn’t he? With Valve being one of the biggest pioneers of advancing gaming as a concept and their huge amount of investement in the VR space it’s no surprise that the company is looking to advance the state of gaming once again and this time they are really looking at a future concept.
BCI (Brain Computer Interfaces) are essentially forgetting our fleshy, organic parts when it comes to providing media and instead focus on directly interacting with our brain in order to produce images, sounds and various other stimuli that could allow us to perceive something. The technology is currently in it’s infancy but Valve seem to think that this may be the key to the future of gaming as they recently announced an official partnership with OpenBCI which is a company that specialises in this technology. The hope is that by combining this with VR technology they can create a truly immersive experience unlike anything we have ever experienced before. I have to say this all sounds incredibly sci-fi but with Valve currently holding the best VR device on the market I have high hopes that they can do something truly magical with this. Let’s see what these space wizards can do!
