The GA Announcements

Chonk

Well it was a rather dissapointing Video Game Awards this time as the leaks were not true and we didn’t get a new Smash Bros character and the show ended off on a movie tie-in game so… interesting choices at least. Regardless there were some interesting announcements that the most noteworthy ones I’ll detail here.

The most noticeable announcement is of course the image you see above, the new “Xbox Series X” which is the next console generation for Microsoft. As you can probably tell it looks a lot like a gaming PC and it apparently has the power to match that description so it will be interesting to see how it competes. Alongside the reveal of this console we also got shown a sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice known now as Senua’s Saga which looks gorgeous on the new console. Nice to see the newly acquired studio already getting some work done for their publisher.

We were also shown a sequel to Bravely Default for the Switch which I have gained a lot of new interest for after playing and loving Octopath Traveller. We also got a very interesting return to a Telltale game series of all things, The Wolf Among Us 2 which screams to me as though the company is just wanting to fulfill the wishes of their fans by not leaving them hanging but at this stage I’m not too sure. And of course we can’t forget that movie tie-in I mentioned earlier which is actually a Fast and Furious heist based game. It doesn’t look very good but I will hold my judgement until the game actually comes out first.

And that’s your lot. Not too much shown this time but at least we got the first look at a new console, that’s pretty neat! If there was anything you were particularly interested in share it with us in the comments! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
