The day I have my computer offline for upgrading is of course the day when the new massive changes on the PTR for Overwatch hit, just my luck. Amongst many big fixes there were a great number of changes so let’s list them!
One of the biggest changes was the complete overhaul of Symmetra. Now she no longer has a tracking beam but it does more damage, has less turrets but they are more effective, uses her teleporter as a normal ability and her ultimate is a massive 5000 HP shield that spans the entire map, woah. Needless to say this speeds up her gameplay greatly and will make her a lot more competitively viable.
Alongside this is the inclusion of a new group search function which will let players find groups or create groups and specify what roles people will play in them. A commendation system which rewards good behavior with rewards. The ability to make your account and stats private, the combination of the Attack and Defence heroes into a simple ‘Damage’ hero type, changes on the Horizon Lunar Colony map and finally a couple of buffs for Doomfist and Orisa. Overall this is one of the biggest PTR tests in a good while and with all the new hints at a hero in the new map changes let’s just say that Overwatch is going to be busy over the next couple of months.
