I swear I go away for one week and all the interesting stuff happens, crazy! Just as I returned home it turns out that Nintendo were holding a direct all to do with Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
This time they showed off a huge number of new characters and features. Newcomers include Simon and Richter Belmont from the Castlevania franchise, Chrom from Fire Emblem, Dark Samus from Metroid and finally the biggest one was Donkey Kong’s main series villain King K. Rool who looks to be an extremely fun heavy character. Among other things shown off were new items and assist trophies (shovel knight!), new game modes, chargeable final smash meters (which finally might make them viable for competitive) and finally they showed us the main menu with one of the modes mysteriously hidden… I wonder what it could be. I am hoping of course for a story mode however I suppose we will just have to stay tuned to Mr Sakurai’s announcements to see if our wishes are coming true!
