The rumours were true and by god I can’t begin to explain how excited I am. I didn’t think I would be this hyped but from what the trailer showed this looks like it will be a game changer.
Half Life: Alyx was officially confirmed at being an official full prequel to Half Life 2 set between the events of the first and the second game which should hopefully give some more context as to how the Combine took over the Earth and the processes involved in establishing their control. You will of course control Alyx as she works at building up the resistance group and kickstarting the events of the second game.
The gameplay shown looked amazing with a massive degree of control and physical interactivity with the environment making this look like a true user of VR technology. The game is coming to all VR platforms, will be given free to those who own Steam’s own VR headset, the Steam Index, and is coming to us in March of next year. That’s my birthday month so not only will I have Animal Crossing to look forward to but also a brand new entry in the Half Life series, life is good.
