Sega are doing some interesting things now thanks to the success of Sonic Mania last year and now they seemingly want lightning to strike twice with their announcement of Sonic Mania Plus. The ‘definitive’ edition of the game is a physical release for all modern consoles and will include two brand new playable characters, collectable items such as an art book and something called an ‘Encore Mode’ whatever that is.
It’s all big and exciting for Sonic fans, especially the announcement of these two characters as many modern day fans will have never heard of them. Most likely they will bring new gameplay styles and stage hazards to the game so that they don’t just feel like a forced addition however we shall see. The biggest take from all this is the fact that the game will finally be getting physical releases, although no announcement on a PC version of this. Please don’t leave us PC folk out Sega.
