Nintendo revealed at a short Direct today the newest games in the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Sword and Shield! Not too much was revealed however we did get a good look at the new region we will be exploring, the Galar region, and the new starters.
Galar seems to be based on the UK and has a bit of a steampunk feel surrounding several of the cities. Personally I hope that Scotland is at least represented a little bit so I can feel some nationalistic pride while catching Pokemon. The three starters are the fire type Scorbunny, the grass type Grookey and the water type Sobble which all look very well designed. We also got a nice trailer showing off the locales we would be visiting however no other actual gameplay changes were revealed to us. I just hope this game will provide enough changes to the formula for us to enjoy another trip back into the Pokemon world, please let there be Scotland…
