So it looks like the worst fears of a lot of Halo fans has just been confirmed as 343 Industries tweeted that Halo Infinite will not make it’s initial release window and as such is now going to be released some time in 2021.
This announcement however doesn’t come as a massive shock to me as seeing the backlash to how the game looked in it’s campaign demo made me think that this game certainly needed more time in the oven and no doubt this lack of polish is due to the pandemic preventing the proper work getting done in a timely manner. As such I am all for the delay of the game so as to make it the best experience that Microsoft can ship however I’m sure this wil be a massive blow to the sales of the new Xbox Series X as without a full blown exclusive Halo game on launch there won’t be much to be excited for.
Still regardless delays usually lead to a better game ultimately and many other game companies are struggling right now and as such have had to delay their projects too so all I’ll say is make sure this extra development time is not wasted, for the sake of the Halo fandom.
