Goodbye to Crucible

Well… whoops

Does anyone here remember Crucible? Amazon’s attempt at a free to play hero shooter that they released to a not so happy reception? The game had a huge amount of issues on launch, so much so thatg Amazon turned it into essentially a closed beta until they could add what they wanted back into the game and figure out what went wrong. Well it seems they now know what went wrong, everything, and so are pulling the plug on development.

The game, once it has the last piece of roadmap content added to it, will be set to shut down and have all the in-game purchases refunded to all those who invested in it. I find it amusing and also a bit sad that Amazon gave up so easily as they stated that once again like most other big game companies that attempt to jump into a market that they don’t know much about that they didn’t see a “sustainable future” for the game, meaning they weren’t making enough money off it. Another one bites the dust I suppose, this doesn’t bode well for their upcoming MMO however.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
