Recently the Senior Level Designer for CD Projekt Red, Miles Toss, made a statement in which he directly discussed about the fact that content from Cyberpunk 2077 that was previously shown off in older gameplay videos such as duel wielding and vehicle customisation is being cut due to design decisions and (presumably) time constraints due to the pandemic.
He stated that cutting content during development is perfectly normal in all aspects of game creation and that they feel this is reasonable considering how open they have been with their fans in regards to the development process and what has been going on in their heads. It’s hard to argue against this I suppose however it is a little sad that they already have started talking about stuff that won’t be in the game before it’s even out. Still at least they have been honest with us and as such can try to temper our expectations, not that this will stop anyone of course.
