It turns out I probably should have been paying attention to the Video Game Awards on Friday as a lot of new stuff was shown off at the ceremony, specifically to do with a lot of new games that I am very excited for. I’ll mostly be playing catchup these next few days in regards to what was announced but let’s start with the thing I am most excited about.
The Outer Worlds, that’s the title of Obsidian’s new game which looks like a sci-fi Fallout: New Vegas complete with old fashioned gameplay systems and an amazing looking setting that has me incredibly excited. A lot of information was revealed behind closed doors after the event such as how it was indeed a single player RPG, how it would have first person combat similar to Fallout, dialogue choices and perks and also how you would pilot a crew of people in a spaceship who would act like Companions did in New Vegas. All of this information sounds amazing, especially coming from Obsidian who did such a good job with their previous games that I have high hopes from this project. I just hope it lives up to all the hype, I really want my old school RPG back.
