Beating Corona One Speedrun at a Time

All done, what an event!

I must admit that I am a sucker for Speedruns. I love seeing games broken down completely and picked apart to find out exactly what the mechanics of each game are and how the developers put everything together. It’s no surprise then that I also enjoy the GDQ events however I was surprised to hear that a side-event, Corona Relief Done Quick, actually took place this month and I hadn’t heard of it!

As you might imagine the event was a charity relief event to help out against the Corona pandemic taking place right now and plenty of support came in for all the speedruns that took place. In fact the event organisers actually notified everyone that this was the most successful singular side-event they have ever done which is lovely to see. There were plenty of high profile speedruns that took place including runs of Halo: Combat Evolved and Shovel Knight: King of Cards which I will definitely have to check out.

Most of the runs have been uploaded to their Twitch and Youtube accounts so I suggest if you want some time to kill to check out the videos and see just how talented some of these runner are. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
