In a surprising case for a company related to Nintendo of all game studios AlphaDream Corporation, the creators of the Mario and Luigi RPG series, have declared bankruptcy and are shutting down.
This comes as a massive surprise for many as the third party company were known for orking directly with Nintendo on their flagship RPG series featuring their very own big name mascot and haven’t seemingly been saved from financial ruin by their benefactors. Not many details have been released surrounding the events that led to this so we don’t know if it was poor sales figures or bad management which led to the closure of the studio but so far all the information we have is that the Mario and Luigi series is up in the air as to whether it will be handed to another studio or will simply fade into nothing.
The last two entries in the game series were both remakes so perhaps that was a sign that the studio had simply run out of ideas or talent but either way it’s a sad state of affairs to see another talented company go.
