I don’t usually cover topics like these as they are terrible things that normally don’t relate to any of my content however I simply had to talk about this at some point.
On the 26th of August, this passing Sunday in Jacksonville there was an officially sponsored competitive E-sports event for Madden NFL which was sent into chaos by one of the contenders, David Katz, after he began shooting at fellow contestents, killing two of them. David was apparently suffered highly from mental illness and was not in the right state of mind when he lost his match at the event earlier in the day.
This is a terrible loss of life in the gaming sector and is going to set a horrible precedence at future events like these as people will have this shooting’s happenings stuck in the back of their mind. Let’s just hope the mainstream media don’t spin this into the gaming causing violence trend, god knows we need harmony right now rather than discord.
