Many people forget that gaming did not start out on the home consoles, instead we have these giant, lumbering blocks of machinery to thank for the creation of the hobby we love so much.
Sure there were examples of gaming before arcades were truly popular but during the days in which you physically went to the Arcade to play games with your friends now that was the time when gaming finally became a huge thing. It’s funny too as while these ancient machines were once considered only for children to spend their pocket change on now only true enthusiasts and adults who want to live out the good old days even use Arcade machines anymore, and that’s not even taking into consideration the general lack of the machines in public areas nowadays.
So thank you grandad gaming machines, you may not have been the first gaming experiences but you certainly brought the concept of gaming to the masses and we can’t thank you enough for it. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
