Games are usually about entertaining people or telling a story that provokes a reaction out of us no matter what the genre is but there is a small slice of games that focus on the more… relaxing types of gaming. Games like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon and many other focus on providing an idyllic ‘go at your own pace’ type of gameplay rather than high octane action or an engaging story which really intrigues me at various times.
To be honest I find myself enjoying these type of games more and more. Maybe it’s my dwindling lack of skill in the competitive video game scene or perhaps it’s to do with the idea that my perfect future would be to retire to a small farm of something like this. A storybook dream that’s for certain but who knows. Anyway for now until that future may arrive I will spend my time harvesting virtual crops or tending to digital chickens.
