I always wondered what the point was for games where the only thing you really do is grind and farm for gear. Games like Diablo and such were fun for me but I never really understood what the big deal behind playing them for hours on end was. That is of course until I started playing Warframe, then everything made sense.
It’s not the reward at the end and the engaging gameplay afterwards that is what you play this game for but instead it’s getting to go through all the effort and all the grind just to get a cool new piece of equipment every so often. In a very real way the main part of this game is in fact the process of grinding rather than the endgame content itself. As long as there is a constant supply of new stuff to grind for I feel a game can base itself purely on the grind, even if the stuff you’re getting is just cosmetic. Destiny eat your heart out.
