Canine Companions

Such a good boy

These past few days have not been good for me. My childhood dog is seemingly on her last legs and it’s made me feel a bit nostalgic and a bit sad. In games we often find ourself with fluffy dog companions, they tend to provide a cute and loyal animal that we share and love the company of which is also true for life. Thus having us protect or travel with a dog helps to ground us in reality and sometimes may very well stop us doing a bad thing for fear of losing ourselves, what would our dog think of us.

At least that’s what I find myself thinking, though in the case of Dogmeat from the Fallout games I can’t even take him out to travel with me, I hate hearing him get hurt. Maybe I’m sentimental, maybe I take these things too seriously, or maybe I just care about my fluffy friends too much. Either way, I’ll be sure to pet any dog I meet in a game and tell it just how much of a good boy/girl it is.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
